Culture & Leadership During Corona: How to Adapt

As we all know, Coronavirus has put everyone in some serious conditions where they have to analyse and evaluate everything, especially talking about entrepreneurs and small business owners.
There is a fear among stakeholders and all the employees due to such unpredictable and uncertain circumstances. During this situation of ultimate crisis that broke throughout the world, there is a high degree of disturbance emotionally and mentally, which makes it even more challenging to fight against this battle.
However, even in this situation, leaders are expected to be strong and respond to the employees and stakeholders that gives them hope. Of course, nobody has a predefined response for crisis and emergency-like situations, but what matters is behaviour and mindset of the leaders. The behaviour and mindset are expected to be generous, optimistic and supportive towards the people that invested their time and best efforts while working in the organisation.
If you practice the right leadership skills, especially during this pandemic situation, then it will benefit your organisation in strategising better long-term goals and business plans. Now, what are effective leadership skills? Being a leader, are you aware of them? Well, if you are not, then in this blog, I am mentioning some of the effective leadership skills that you must practice before and even after Coronavirus. Scroll down and take a look!
Respond Quickly
During emergency-like situations, leaders must know how to respond. And to respond appropriately, one must collect the information, then make decisions to respond to the team members in an effective manner.

Leaders have to set clear priorities, and then emancipating the team members to discover and execute them as per the solutions. Ultimately, it will be beneficial for the leaders to respond to such situations that can hamper the growth of a business.
1. Stay Calm and Optimistic
Of course, the situations and impact of COVID-19 is devastating for the entire world, but it is essential to cultivate the emotions and feelings of calmness and optimism as a leader. Otherwise, it will be challenging to maintain the organisation’s positive environment.
To stay calm and optimistic, the leaders have to delegate some of the responsibilities to senior executives. Yes, it involves decision making as well. Thus, the right people should be empowered to make decisions for the team.

Moreover, what you cannot ignore is the fact that you have to be optimistic this whole time. A confident and optimistic leader is what everyone idealises because you cannot escape from the situation, but fight it with optimism that will be more beneficial for the entire organisation.
2. Assess the situation before you Act
A crisis comes with some unknown mistakes and uncertainties! And, being a leader, you just cannot decide on the basis of your intuition alone! Just collect the information as possible as it can be done to cope with the feeling of uncertainty, especially during these days!
It is absolutely essential to assess the situation, anticipate it and then, act accordingly. Every situation has to be analysed in-depth to understand what can happen next. For a leader, it is extremely necessary to maintain their sanity and calm behaviour during these Corona times.
Hence, even if you find any situation which requires immediate action, please pause and think before you take any action.
Further, if leaders or managers talk to their employees about work stuff or something personal, then 35% of employees are more likely to adapt to the changes in the work conditions.

You must be wondering how to adapt such situations, right? How to increase the productivity on the job, even if we all are virtually connected? How to keep ourselves away from stress during this unpredictable scenario?
Well, all your questions have one major and significant answer, i.e. Connectivity! As a team leader, you have to remain connected with your team members. According to a survey, 93% of people believed that with the help of employees, the company was able to support its customers during the outbreak of COVID-19.
Besides, it is equally essential for the leaders to check up on their employees mental, physical and emotional well-being. Also, they are able to look after their family members during these tough times. In any case, you are not able to support your employees in this way, and it will be hard for the employees to adapt to the changes in the working environment.
