Maven Stainless is having the facility for TIG welded pipes and tubes from flat-rolled strip by an automatic welding process. The strip is passed through different sets of rollers at the recommended speed in accordance with thickness of the strip. The rollers from the pipe and they are welded by TIG process where there is a Tungsten electrode and electrical supply is given to the electrode and the strip edge. There is a supply of Argon and Hydrogen gas of different composition at controlled flow rate. For specific application the outside weld bead is ground smooth to face and inside weld bead rolled flat.
